Why would RB4011iGS+RM start beeping randomly?

I have an RB4011iGS+RM at a client location. They are telling me that recently, it has randomly started beeping, like fast multiple beeps and all of the LED ethernet port lights are flashing in sync with the beeping. Then it stops beeping and the lights returns to normal. They say that they are not losing network access during the beeping, and the logs show nothing. It is not rebooting.

I have not been able to see this happen for myself, as I am not at that location. I have never heard of this happening with any others or my own.

Is there anything that would be causing this?

Nothing in logs, not even suspicious log-ins? A script which does something to leds?

The only login attempts in the log are my own successful logins. Ports are limited to only allow my IP to connect.

There are no scripts on the router at all.

I’m wondering if it could be some hardware function, temperature related or something? It’s inside an office, so it’s in a good environment though

According to Google, 4011 has got no beeper\buzzer.

Perhaps it was like this

Edit: correct link this time

Yes, the 4011iGS has a beeper. It beeps on startup and the product page states that it has a beeper. Google is referring to the original 4011.

Another device beeping would make sense, and that was my first thought, but that would not explain the led Ethernet lights blinking in sync with the beeping before returning to normal though.

Maybe I can get them to send me a video of it happening.

So its not exactly the same, and definitely N=1, but my RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD does not seem to be able to beep either on reboot or using the “beep” command.

Strangely I never knew that beeping was a thing and now Im sad that I cant try Preludio from Partita No. 3 E major for solo Mikrotik
