Wi-Fi 6E devices for an new project

Hi,
I am searching for an access point that supports the following features:

  • Multiple SSID’s minimum 10
  • Build in radios/diameter support
  • Support for portal sites(HotSpot user authorization)
  • Support for Wi-Fi 6E (6GHz extension to 802.11ax)
  • Support for central management (As far as I know, this will be no problem at MikroTik using an separate VLAN, where the communication runs on layer 2)
  • 10G or 2.5GB port

On an search I only found products without the 6GHz band. :frowning:
Or have I overlook something?
Thanks

There is no current wifi 6E device from Mikrotik. You will need to pick from the slim choices from another vendor.

This is not a good idea, 10 SSIDs on the same radio will waste a lot of airtime just for sending out beacons.

Ubiquiti, TP-Link, Ruckus, Alta labs. They all supports PPSK, instead of multiple SSIDs you can use that feature.

Oh then I must wait some month, because the will be needed.

I think you will need to wait a little bit longer… But who knows, maybe Mikrotik surprises us

Wi-Fi 6E will probably be a year+ away still given how long it took to get AX to market. Don’t even think about Wi-Fi 7…

No. It took longer for AX, because we switched from mikrotik in-house driver package (15 years old) to new chip manufacturer driver. Now all new hardware standard will come quickly.

RICH, please dont waste valuable mikrotik resources on an interim, dead before it goes out the door, 6E standard.
TP link and other are rolling out Wi-Fi 7 already and even zyxel is heavily discounting (dumping its new 6E stock).

Normis, do not pass go, do not collect $200, go straight to jail if you are even thinking, in the shower, in the sauna, of producing and selling 6E.

2024 new android and apple phones will be Wi-Fi 7 capable… and then it will be the norm!! 6E will have a lifespan of a nano-second…

There is quite a lot of choice. I’ve seen WiFi 7 AP from tp link at adria summit. It was a beast…

When wireless adapters became available i will replace my existing wireless adapters in laptops and then wait for cAP BE

The transition to AX is still underway, no wAP AX, Audience AX devices yet. Also there are no point to point AX devices yet.
Taking into account that Mikrotik certified in FCC 4 devices in 2022 and 5 in 2023, wifi7 devices will have to wait for a long time.

In that case mate, I would really, really like a cAP ax with 6ghz support. Really really.

I had a Cambium XE3-4 for over a year now.

It’s 2x2 2.4
2x2 5.0
4x4 5.8/6

The 6 GHZ channel is software definable to the higher end of 5Ghz or 6Ghz.

In the time I have had it… I have seen very few devices actually use the 6Ghz. So I configured it to run as 5.8.
