Wierd RADIUS Accounting behavior

I’m Using a single RB2011 as a PPPoE server for a very small number of users, and I noticed it generates a very large number of RADIUS accounting requests - more than 1 request per connected user per minute. I’ve tried setting Interim Updates interval to anything between 0 and 12 hours but it doesn’t seem to make a difference.

I user User Manager on the same box and this triggers a huge number of writes which will wear out the flash pretty soon. Is there any way to control the accounting requests rate, other than disable accounting altogether?

Update – it turns out that User Manager sends an Acct-Interim-Interval response and that takes precedence over the interim-update configuration.

This makes perfect sense, but is there any way to customize User Manager?
