wifi bands in the USA

My RB751 has a full country list for wifi bands. I’ve always used United States but see US 2 and 3 listed along with some other US ranges.

I have not seen what US 2 or 3 cover and in light of the FCC’s $200,000 fine to TP Link for allowing Americans to use
illegal power levels was wondering if Mikrotik is FCC compliant.

“The Commission’s Office of Engineering Technology (OET) investigated a Wi-Fi router
marketed in the U.S. by TP-Link, and determined that TP-Link’s software installed on the router included
a user setting that violated Section 15.15(b) by permitting the user to change the country code for the
router, thereby enabling the router to operate at a higher power than allowed on certain restricted Wi-Fi
channels, in violation of the Rules.”

You can see what the allowed frequencies and power levels are by doing this:

 /interface wireless info country-info "us 2.4 5.8"

Mikrotik has started preparing special versions prepared especially for USA. E.g. http://routerboard.com/RBLHG-5nD
