Hello friends,
Randomly (once a day or so) “Wifi hardware reset” happens on my hap ax3 router when I create and use a virtual wifi on the wifiwave2 5ghz interface.
But the virtual wifi on wifiwave2 2Ghz interface is not like that and it works correctly.
I tried to use any OS alpha and beta 7.12 software maybe this problem will be solved but they didn’t solve the problem.
Does anyone have experience with this?
Thank you

Hey, I am getting the exact same issue with the latest software 7.12 on both 2.4 and 5ghz. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
me 2.
Filed a support request: SUP-133058
I am experiencing the same issue. Filed a support request (SUP-135071).
I am getting wireless hardware reset periodically, sometime every 10-20 minutes, sometimes less often.
Hello
I filed a support request for “wifi hardware reset” issue too but they did not give me a convincing answer.
Even upgrade to RouterOs 7.13rc2 made the wifi problem worse.
What should be done in this case?
Why the mikrotik development team do not solve this problem?
See my issue SUP-133058. I (seem to have) discovered that my Apple IOS devices, via the default feature “Private Wi-Fi Address”, were “causing” the problem. After turning off that feature on such devices in my network I no longer see the issue. Of course I would hope that Mikrotik is pursuing the issue and finds a fix for the problem on their side.
Hello
Thank you for sharing your experence about this issue. I will test it and turn off “Private Wi-Fi Address” on all my apple devices and share the result here.
By the way, I could not find your conversation with the supporter (request number SUP-133058).
Thank you for sharing the link. But it shows me bellow permission error.
I disabled the “Private Wi-Fi Address” on all my apple devices and the “Wifi Hardware Reset” has not happened so far.
That’s great and thank you.

ahh, I guess the bug reports aren’t publicly visible…
Hello dear friends
Due to a number of reports about the 'Wi-Fi hardware reset" problem to the support team and its relation with the “private address” of Apple devices, I was hoping that Mikrotik would at least make an improvement in router OS 7.14, but unfortunately, the problem still exists.
What should be done about this?
I manage two routers where there are iPhones, I started searching and I didn’t find that error in any of them and I don’t remember seeing it before, so it must be linked to some particular configuration
1 hAPax3 (router and capsman) with 1 hAPax2 (AP) both with v 7.13.4
1 hAPac2 (router) with v 7.14rc1
Can you share your config, @mehr463? I have neither seen this error on my environment.
This issue occurs when I create a virtual wifi on the 5ghz wifi interface and use it for apple devices.
Interestingly, creating and using virtual Wi-Fi on the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi interface does not cause such a problem.
Of course, this issue occurs for Apple devices that have a “private wifi address” set on them, and if I turn off the “private wifi address” or do not create and use 5 GHz virtual Wi-Fi , the problem never appears.
Thanks to the user JNOB who found the relation of apple devices “private wifi address” to this problem.
Hi All,
I have the same problem.
Wifi interfaces reset and wifi1(5Ghz) stay on DFS scanning.
Thtanks
Yes, this happening also on hAP ax2 (v7.13.5). Usually once per month.
Today I found this problem also in the logs

Hi Guys,
I’m experiencing similar behaviour since last week, but I don’t think its caused by Apple device. I’m suspecting my HP Elitebook G9 causing it. Do you know if support is investigating what’s going on? And do you have any idea how to understand what exactly is going on? For now I’m trying to use 2.4GHz interface as workaround
There are quite a few posts on SA Query Timeout. Getting same myself with my Lenovo laptop with Realtek NIC and hAP ax2.
The real interesting thing is: people go mad because of a log info entry. ![]()
