Wifi-qcom-ac, United Kingdom no Band C support

Anyone else noticed this. With the old legacy wireless drivers I was able to use 5ghz Band C in the United Kingdom, but with the newer wifi-qcom-ac drivers, Band C is no longer available when set to the United Kingdom.

Printing out the supported WiFi channels in the terminal also confirms that they are unavailable to use.

Could be that MT failed to certify ac/ax gear (running wifi driver) as SRD?

SRD frequencies are available on AX wifi-qcom devices, they are only missing from AC devices with wifi-qcom-ac driver.

Best to check with support.
No need for anyone to speculate.

Just had a reply from support regarding this.

Under current conditions, there will be no change to the existing settings as these limitations are due to the implementation of the new driver. If you need access to these frequencies, we recommend that you use legacy wireless package.

Basically have to use the old wireless drivers to use this band with AC devices. it’s sitting quite happily at the moment on a nice clear section of band B, so will leave it be.

Odd response but thank you for letting us know.

@Pudpoh You may request in your support ticket that MT adds this crucial information of missing channels on wifi-qcom-ac to their documentation. Probably to the section “Lost features” here https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/WiFi#WiFi-Lostfeatures

Thanks!
