wifiwave2 local CAP

Hi,
I have two hAP ax^2, both running ROS 7.11.2, one as a gateway with CAPsMAN, the other one as a dumb CAP. My goal is to have them both as CAPs with a single configuration managed by CAPsMAN.

When I enable CAP mode on the hAP with CAPsMAN and set CAPsMAN address to 127.0.0.1, both wireless interfaces show that they’re managed by CAPsMAN, but they get no config. No SSID, no channel, no security profile, nothing.

Am I doing something wrong? Did anyone managed to get local CAP working?

How I understood it should be done:
On the device having 2 functions (AP and capsman), use local as Manager.
Don’t set the radio in caps mode for that device.
The way wifiwave2 is made, it uses the same settings as the capsman part. So apply the desired configuration to the radio in the configuration tab of radio.

Roaming etc between both devices will work since all radios will be managed by the same ROS instance (running local and via capsman on the first AX2).

Okay, so using the same configuration profile both in CAPsMAN and on the locally managed radios makes roaming etc. work? That’s awesome, thanks! I thought I need to switch radios on the hAP with CAPsMAN to CAP to make it work.

With old capsman (legacy wifi) it was indeed needed like you state.
But on wifiwave2 it doesn’t work that way (yet ??).
