I am also very intreasted in this, and i bet alot of other people are too. what kinds of features will it have? Any ETA? Would be nice to be able to beta test. ![]()
We are making a tool that is called the user manager (similar to the hotspot manager that we used to have online). this will be available as a package for routeros. you can see it here: http://userman.mt.lv/userman (demo:demo)
hi normis,
any time frame that you think this package might be ready by?
were in the process of starting to impliment hotspots, would be nice to give this tool a try
maybe few months. The downloadable package maybe will be ready in one month.
For now you can login inside that online demo and look what features you like and maybe you have some suggestions.
hi uldis,
i have looked though the demo, looks pretty good so far. only thing i can’t see is where to add users, is there a profile system so that you don’t have to automaticlly keep keying in bandwidth limits? can you set per user upload/download queues? is it possible to have an external script access the radius so that i can setup a walled garden at payment page and automaticly add them to the radius, specifying a new user name, profile for account, credits to add to account. ability at payment page to check for user name if in use so i can ask for another one before going any farther than that. want to make it as automatic as possible
also able to check user password, so that they can come back and login to the payment page and can add cedits to their user account, and be able to show them their stats from the radius machine (bandwith used, credits used, credits left, time used, time left, etc…)
1.> A page where the USERS (Clients) can login to check their Account Statistics like Time, Data and Day balance if any. Also their Bandwidth Limits.
2.> A Page where the client can backcheck thir history.
3.> Ability for a client to change their PASSWORD through web.
4.> IF option 2 is not possible then ability for export of consolidated client-data as a daily CSV text file. We can use parsing of logs for detailed session reports, but would love to have consolidated reports for the day which can then be bumped into a database for report generation as needed.
As time goes by, will keep posting in more suggestions, usable/practical or not!!
Here are my suggestions!
Ability to pass variables to external (payment) server.
Allow return variables to update users table - ie we could use customer’s MAC address instead of username/password
Ability for customers to roam between hotspots
Credits have choice to break sessions within any predefined time period - or session to run unbroken from first login
Possibilty to restrict TX/RX rate when certain limit is reached.
Ability to set time limit for this restriction.
All this in one little box!
Seems like Mikrotik is becoming more and more of a web server as well… ![]()
Error 503: unknown method
I get this each time I try to use the demo at
http://userman.mt.lv/userman
seems to work OK for me - although the interesting bits are restricted!
This bug will be fixed. It is related to session expiration. You can try to restart the browser.
