will the HAP ac2 support the new WiFi Alliance standards WiFi6 viz. 802.11ax and WAP3

Hi,

I am looking to do a deployment for a fibre ISP on GPON and I am being asked about the standard/future standards of the WIFI, does anyone know if the hap ac2 supports the new WiFi Alliance standards WiFi6 viz. 802.11ax and WAP3, or can it be upgraded to, or will this need a new product.

Sorry if this is a bit of a dumb question, but I can’t seem to find much reference to it (this could be my bad searching).

Thank you in anticipation

Tim

Looks like 15 routers with both wap3 and wifi6, not sure how to add 802.11ax to the mix.’

not without wap3 issue though…

my guess is that it will necessitate new hardware and firmware for most current wifi products.

It will require a new chipset, so no.

Synology MR2200ac is WPA3 Certified and uses the same IPQ4019, 802.11ax needs new hardware.
