Wimax doesn't seem to work yet

So. Got the cards (DNMA-81 ABG/N).
Quickly popped it inte RB500
Upgraded to v3beta7.

No wireless interfaces listed

So Mikrotik guys.

The Atheros AR5416 mini-pci is not vapourware anymore.
How about a new beta release huh?

as there is no normal hardware nor linux driers available for wimax, there are no progress with wimax.

but you could check how far MT got with n standard at the MUM in Orlando

Is that just an N card with mimo ? as in you will need three antennas to make it work the way it should anyway ?
The last commercial wimax thing i opened up for look had just one antenna connector leading to one pigtail to one panel.

wimax and 802.11n (MIMO) are two VERY different things …

That card is most definately NOT wi-max.

this is what happens when marketing works. people get confused
and start calling everything the same (like photoshopping or googling).
Please read up on these topics in wikipedia dibatech:

802.11n (used in MIMO): is “a new amendment to the 802.11
standard for wireless local-area networks. The real data throughput will
reach a theoretical 270 Mbit/s for the required dual stream MIMO device.
(which may require an even higher raw data rate at the physical layer),
and should be up to 20 times faster than 802.11b, and up to 3 times faster
than 802.11a and up to 4 times faster then 802.11g.”

however

WIMAX is a technology comliant with IEEE 802.16, described as
“a standards-based technology enabling the delivery of last mile wireless broadband access as an alternative to cable and DSL”

Your card looks like a N card. We have not yet released any new drivers,
we will make an announcement when we do.

Thank you for the explanation.
May i please have my head back now?
