winbox.cfg changing location

I would like to change location for winbox.cfg from C:.…AppData\Roaming\Mikrotik\Winbox to another location (which I can encrypt). Is there some way how to arrange it?
Thanks.
Ivan

mount some encrypted NTFS partition to C:.…AppData\Roaming\Mikrotik\Winbox =)

Yes, I was thinking about this solution, but not much practical to mount another encrypted partition for each sensitive folder .. Better to keep them together.

Why do you want to save passwords in an insecure PC? simply don’t save passwords

I think my notebook is quite secure, but there are occasions, when it is secure to keep sensitive data encrypted (ie. notebook is stolen). My memory is not good enough to remember so many passwords and it is not handy to open some encrypted file with passwords each time and fill-in a password in winbox. I am not forcing some changes in your concept, just telling you my opinion …

you could use the thing posted by cmit to launch winbox with password in command line.

ie. store command line strings in one encrypted file, would be easier to launch.

Thanks, very practical solution …

You sound like a person who is running a httpd/php server in your computer anyway, why not make a simple PHP page with links to user:pass@winboxIP all encoded. There are many ideas.

I wanted to suggest The Dude, but currently it also doesn’t encrypt the passwords, I will see if we can change that.

One simple (but maybe stupid) question at the end. Is there some syntax for running winbox from command prompt with parameters? When I am trying it, everything what is written after “winbox+space” is automatically at ConnectTo line in WinBox Loader.
