I’ve have used RouterOS and Winbox for some years now. And im am really impressed how well the communication between the winbox and routerOS works. And the whole GUI stuff. It allways works as expected, and it is incredible tolerant when the network is unstable.
Im am really curious about what framework you guys are using. Is it open source, commercial or homemade. Or is it all TOP SECRET.
We are planning to develop a GUI Client/Server application, but the research we’ve made so far into different frameworks like ACE/TAO and other CORBA implementations don’t come close to the smoothness of the winbox communication.
So if it is no secret, please share with us:)
