Winbox Connection refused!

After a day or so i get Could not connect to 192.168.5.1 (port 8291) - Connection refused with Beta 5.03

Tested on
Windows 7 64bit
Wine
Windows XP

Restart all works again
Can ssh and telnet

1st - change default ports!
Same problem when connecting per MAC address?

I am not complaining , Just wanted the MT guys to know … Yes it works thru mac and changing the port. I changed the port back to 8291 and now it is working again .

I have experienced that problem too.

Same here.. connection refused with winbox, ssh works fine, reboot all is good for a while.

Maybe an issue with memory. Had this happen on a 750 board. After rebooting it all is well.

Am now finding this same issue with an RB750G board at a remote location. Unable to find the MAC address of the connected port to the RB411 connected to it. Suppose will have to drive out and do a hard reboot…

I get this alot when L7 makes cpu load run high on rb750g. Reboot helps.

Is this fixed in future ros version?
My current ros is 5.14

I have a RB1200, and since yesterday I can not access anymore. The router is working like a switch and can not even hard reset. I tried to reset several times with no success. There are 2 modens connected on port 1 and 2, and if I set my PC IP do automatic, I get an IP from one of the modens DHCP server. Could you help me?

I know this is old, but adding another possible problem for future people who find this issue: Check that the IP → Services → Winbox (or other service) configuration. If the allowed addresses list exists, and does not include the source IP of the WinBox connection request, then Winbox will reply with “Connection refused”
