Winbox Dosen't responde properly in rc7

I face a problem in winbox. Winbox doesn’t working in rc7. I can open winbox but everything in winbox is stuck. Winbox is working properly only a few times. Last 2 days I open winbox for more then 40 (approx) times. It only works 15 (approx) times. In rc6 I face no problem with winbox. Please solve this. Because I am a novice user. I can only work with winbox. I don’t know scripting. Thanks.

As fare as I know there is no problems with winbox.
Download the latest winbox version, from http://demo2.mt.lv or from your router with 2.9rc7.
If problem still exists, than contact support@mikrotik.com, with attached support output file.

it seemed to be a problem with winbox in rc7. After updating rc6 to rc7 we have this problems also. Winbox opens and you can see all old open windows, but all are gray without any data. After roundabout 10 sek. winbox close automaticly.

Access to this router with Winbox isn’t possible any more. Telnet & SSH works fine.

My problem got extream now. Last 30 times i can only work 4or 5 times in winbox. I mail my support output file to support@mikrotik.com. I update rc6 to rc7. meconet discribe the accurate problem. Thanks for quick reply.

I already work with latest winbox version. But the result is same here. :frowning:

It is working here. Using rc6 and then upgraded to rc7. The original winbox.exe was used but new plugins were downloaded. try clearing your winbox cache folder and starting over. Maybe something corrupted on the plugin download or something.

After clearing the cache, i login to server by winbox. Everything works fine. But after 30 sec i running tourch window with Interface= local, Scr address = 0.0.0.0/0, Entry Timeout = 00:00:15. The box is stuck again. I can open any window. But that window doesnot work. For working these 30sec, i have to clear cache everytime if i want to work with winbox. Without clearing cache winbox work once every 5 time ( approx ).

So the problem is with the Torch window and not all of winbox I assume? Please be specific on the actions you are performing when its not responding and try to write instructions on how to reproduce it. Send it to support@ as well. Possibly a cpu utilization or network speed issue so winbox gets toasted.

The problem is in all window, not only torch. Server cpu utilization is under 5 %. I connected with server adsl line 4m down/512k up. So i think network is no problem here. I can ping server 20ms ( avg ). Anything i do in winbox, within 1 mins its stuck again.

Until now i face winbox problem. Now i am using RC10 form the very first day when RC10 relesed. I cheak everything. I sent support output file to support@mikrotik.com. Now i use only a single pc form router box for testing perpose.

*Then i use no queue rules ( cause i dont want slow network related problem).
*Desable Norton Antivirus 2005 Internet worm protection ( Cause this option conflict with mikrotik, Plz chk this conflict. I have to permit NAV 2005 to accept mikrotik for too many time, disturbing. Desable that option is best for me. Their is no option in NAV2005 to permanaetly accept mikrotik. Can u solve this problem in future release?).
*I erase my winbox, download latest windbox form mikrotik box and clear cache.

Now i login winbox in admin mode. The result is same. Winbox stuck or u can say responding too slowly( need 10 sec to respond each click). Sometimes it run smoothly for 10mins, then stuck without any reason. But most of the time it stuck form the very begining.

I cheak this form five diffrent pc. All of the pc’s OS is Win XP Pro. In RC6 i never face this problem. I face this problem form RC7-RC10. Thanks.

Sounds like NAV is blocking communications after a bit. You should be able to allow communication to the MT ip address without any restrictions, see the NAV manual and faqs.

Mikrotik uses whatever port you specify under ‘www’ service, as well as 8291 for winbox is using security. I don’t believe it uses random ports as far as i can tell.

Now I permit all port and connection form 192.168.51.1 in NAV. Now NAV2005 problem is solved.

But winbox problem solve pertially. Now everytime winbox stuck after 3-10 mins. Not form the very beginning :astonished: . But i think i face no problem in RC6 form the same settings and same pc :slight_smile: .

try turning off the firewall all together for 20 mins and see what happens. If it works fine without pc firewall software then there is probably some rule saved somewhere that is blocking something.

I desable Norton Anti Virus 2005 for 1hour. Result is same. But in 2.9 Stable ver winbox stuck after 10-20mins. Now i can do my work. But sometimes it stucks after 2-5 mins. I cannot find the real problem until now.
