WinBox finds no neighbors

Have a Linux (openSuse 15.4) notebook running winbox (3.39, in Wine). Winbox shows no neighbors. There are two MT routers connected to this notebook,

  1. on eth0 via cable to port 2 of MT hAP AC lite,
  2. on Wi-Fi to hAP AC lite. (ROS 6.49)
Neither appears in winbox when in the neighbors tab, not connected to anything ,and I click on Refresh.
On the notebook, in a terminal, the command “ip neighbor show” lists the second MT, on wi-fi, but not the one cabled directly.
This inability to find neighbors has existed for many months. Very frustrating as I’m not able to access Router 1) at this time and believe Winbox should be able to connect.
What am I missing? Does the firewall on the notebook need a port opened?
When router 1 was new winbox could connect to the router’s default IP.

I had this same issue on Ubuntu until I saw a post making mention of the firewall. I turned the firewall off on the computer just to see if it made a difference and suddenly everything popped up like it should. I would suggest you turn it off to test if it lets them show up. Then you will at least know the right direction to go with it.
