is there any tool like winbox for mac os10?
Nope but try and run it under Darwine. i use Winbox with Unity under VMware Fusion.
winbox is working with Darwine
Seconding what janisk says, winbox itself works fine under darwine on osx
thou on some machines the mac-connect part doesn’t work (not a winbox issue, but an issue with the way wine handles different ethernet interfaces)
Our company has gone non-microsoft. All the new computers come with awful vista and many lack proper driver support for xp. So we are running ubuntu or osx on all our machines now.
I can run winbox on wine in ubuntu no problem but darwine says:
err:module:attach_process_dlls “gdi32.dll” failed to initialize, aborting
err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"Z:\Users\fred\Desktop\winbox.exe" failed, status c0000005
On our Macs we are installing wnbox on ubuntu in a virtual box which works mostly ok but it takes up several gb of disk space just to run winbox and is rather slow.
Getting darwine to work would be nice.
From that error I am guessing it cannot read, find or launch gdi32.dll?
winbox is working with CrossOver
I run winbox on OSX with darwine and crossover. Only problem I have is connecting via mac, over IP it works fine.
Stop talking crap. Microsoft has STOPPED selling Windows XP in some countries and all retailers have to ship Vista instead of XP. (talking about pre-installed computers).
Also, a company can’t shift from Vista to XP just because they feel like it, you need to purchase the licenses, remember that.
Just keep in mind that none of these solutions are applicable to older G5, G4, or G3 machines, only the Intel models. I have become very adept at using the Telnet interface and don’t miss Winbox at all.
