this is probably a bit off-topic but I’m running out of solutions.
I am long term user of Winbox in Wine on Ubuntu linux. Generally it works. After few Winbox startups it happens that whole screen goes off. Sometimes the screen goes back on after few seconds. Sometimes not. Then only solution is to unplug USB-C dock and plug it again.
I use Dell 5410 laptop with Ubuntu 22 and Dell USB-C WD19S dock with external monitor. Wine is version 9 but the problem goes at least from version 6 as far as I remember. Everything is up-to-date even dock firmware and bios.
Looks like it is not Winbox fault. It’s more Wine/Ubuntu related but maybe someone has already stumbled upon this.
This is no way, I repeat, no way Wine related. It may be pure coincidence and a hardware fault. Faulty USB-C cable, monitor cable loose on either end, etc.
I don’t think it is faulty cable. I tried to change setting in Preferences->Displays in Ubuntu. There I changed Scaling from Auto detect to 100%. Looks like it helped so far. I should have try this much earlier…
