Winbox lost connection after establish bridge

Hey Hello

i am actually setting up a Metal G-52SHP.
I want to use a bridge to distribute one dhcp Server over wifi and Ethernet port.
Works, but when i assigne the ethernet port to the bridge, i loose connection from winbox.

Any suggestions?

Connect via MAC address. You probably get kicked out, but can reconnect after re-discovery.

From list of discovered routers you can click on IP or MAC address column to connect to that router. If you click on IP address then IP will be used to connect, but if you click on MAC Address then MAC address will be used to connect to the router.

I always connect via Mac Adress.

When i reset the Stick, i can connect again via mac, but not after estabilsh the bridge on lan.

Do you connect via Wifi or ETH to the Metal ?
If you assign ETH to the bridge, and Metal is a router not a CPE, where is the WAN coming from?
When assigning ETH to the bridge (where apparently it is not when you start), it impacts following things you might need to adapt!

  • MAC server, Neighbour discovery etc.
  • Services, Winbox access (should be ok if bridge is allowed)
  • IP with which you connect to the Metal and if a different IP is set for the user access router will reject the logging

Are you using VLAN on the ETH port?

I connect via ETH to the Metal.
I dont need any Wan in this Setup. Just connect some Terminals via ETH and Wifi.
Where do i need to allow the bridge to be still accesible via Winbox? is it the setting “winbox interfaces”?
