I just received my RB433AH and hooked it up to my laptop using 18V 1.1A PoE. I already had Winbox v2.2.11 but downloaded the latest one just in case since this board has v3.6 ROS and my previous boards were v2.9.x. I can see the MAC of the board and it connects but before you can do ANYTHING it disconnects. I have tried turning off the wireless on my laptop, clearing the cache on winbox, unticking the load previous session box, tried all 3 interfaces on the RB, rebooted laptop, rebooted RB, removed wireless card and MicroSD and rebooted RB again, disabled firewall and antivirus on PC. I’ve probably tried more things as well. Can anyone help me out with what’s going on here? Oh yeah, and I tried the old winbox v2.2.11 as well. Please help!! (searched forum for answers but found none)

try another laptop (different kind) sometimes it depends on the ethernet card in your laptop.
Ok, will do. However, this I have used this laptop in the past on my RB532a. I’ll let you know how it goes.

MAC-Winbox and MAC-Telnet are last resort connectivity methods. If you use it in a daily routine you should start using the IP address to connect, it won’t flood your network with a million broadcast packets.
Yes, I only needed it to do initial configuration. Maybe a default initial interface address would bandaid this problem.
