When fine tuning a PtP link with 2 LHG 5 ax (latest stable RouterOS 7), I used the Scan tool in Winbox on the remote station side, to get the best signal values for the link. The remote AP was configured as a station bridge, as we need to push several VLANs over the link. After fine tuning the antenna positions on both ends of the link, I clicked on the Connect button in the Scan window. The connection came up, and I assumed that the link would work like before.
After that, we have spent about a work day chasing why we could not get any traffic through the link. On the WiFi side, all seemed OK, the link up with reasonable signal strength, but no traffic. Just by pure chance, I noticed that the remote client had switched from the initially configured station bridge mode, to station mode, which explains the behavior.
I consider this behavior a serious bug, when the the previous configuration was set to something else, just by activating the connection after scan.
