I’m running an old routeros 5.18~5.26 releases but with new winbox, can’t connect. And with versions that “works”, some functions like the choise box for reboot “yes/no”, aren’t clickable. I’m using Windows 10. What release of Winbox I have to use?
Maybe you have to upgrade ROS to have all functions, also your old ones have vulnerabilities, as update is free you can do it!
Or you have installed those “cracked” ones that are on internet on virtual machine? - If yes is your responsibility!
If this is a closed system without internet access, it’s ok. Else you should upgrade as soon as possible.
WinBox 3.12 is the last one supporting RouterOS 5.x and older.
I’m using a cracked iso to testing some vpn features only, before buying a pair of 3011 boards to my workplace.
If everything runs fine, i’m authorized to buy a pair of 3011 and put in production.
I’m going to try with winbox 3.12 as suggested
You better download CHR and run it in a virtual environment:
Definitely try CHR, even 5.26 (the latest from 5.x branch) is now six years old. It can still give you some ideas about RouterOS, but there were some improvements since than. Whole IKEv2 for example, if you’re looking into VPN.
