Can anyone help me set up winbox from a remote computer that is not on my system? I have copied the winbox login box, but I get a error message that sez can not connect to (my router address). Everything in winbox is the same as my computer that is on line via the wifi from this router. I have tried everything that the manual sez to do. Thanks pputter
check firewall rules in the path from where you are attemping to access the router to the input rules of the router itself.
port 8291 needs to be open.
common pratice among most folks is to limit such access to the router to an access list of specific IP’s and/or IP blocks via input chain firewall rules… If that is the case here, you may need to add the source IP to the allowed access list.
