Winbox Window Setting Forgotten

Winbox v3.0b3
RouterOS v6.20
Windows 8.1

Ticked “Load Previous Session” option from WinBox but when I close a winbox session with red X or “Exit” the next session begins with a blank slate, nothing remembered. Am I missing something basic here? Thanks.

Forgetting the layout in winbox is totally normal. The solution is to open winbox without loading previous session tickbox, set the layout again, close with the button and open again with tickbox marked.

Thanks for the tip! If I understand the procedure you’re recommending properly it didn’t solve the issue. I created a short video to show you what I’ve done, is this accurate?

I’m trying to get Winbox to retain the customized window layout, columns, in-line comments etc. from my previous sessions. You can see from the video each time I login all the layout settings are the defaults.

I didn’t notice that you are using unstable v. 3 beta winbox. Use correctly working 2.x winbox and it will work as I wrote. Even 2.x is sometimes forgetting the windows layout, unfortunately.

Thanks, switching to v2.2.18 totally solved the problem. I wasn’t able to find any other version of Winbox on MikroTik’s website besides the 3.0b3. Here’s a page that has some legacy versions:

beta3 is very old and did have such problems, as of Winbox 3 rc2, all these things have been fixed, so I will lock the topic
