Winbox window won't scale for small (netbook) displays

Hi all,

Just a quickie. I had occasion to use Winbox on my eeePC and came across a problem. Because the display is small and Winbox is big, I couldn’t get to the ‘tools’ menu down the left hand side.

The Winbox window doesn’t have any scrolly-bars, so it simply wasn’t possible to do what I wanted to do in Winbox. As it happens, it was just a quick check I needed to do, so I did it from the CLI, but…

What happens next time I need to look at graphs/stats/usage etc.? Is there any way of getting to the entire Winbox menu?

Cheers,

Nick.

^seconded, I use on an eeepc and similarly have problems accessing all of the menu items, resorting to terminal works but it’s annoying not to be able to use them as intended.

we are working on it.

hahahaha same as my MSI wind under tools menu > sub menu does not show

Yup.

I cannot access the IP->IPSec settings always…

Make it a second menu for the second tier options. Add a scrollable window.

Fixed

Where is the link for the new Winbox?

In download section “Winbox configuration tool 2.2.14”

it’s not yet released

pardon me for asking what may possibly be obvious, but have you also made sure the popout menus either shrink or double up in some way?

Currently they just overflow outside the winbox window which means that even if the main window now fits, we won’t be able to access some of the menu items.

yes we have

Hoorah! Thanks for the clarification

anyone willing to test this new small winbox, can ask support for a pre-release version of v3.25 in exchange for bugreports

do you want bug reports on just the new size feature or other problems?
Cos I’ve got one

Edit: emailed through supout.rif already anyway.

any bugs will do
