Windows VPN passthrough not able to connect

Hi,

we’ve recently set up an RB2011UiAS-2HnD with 6.33.3

we have a windows server acting as a VPN server and DHCP host for our network, and need to add VPN passthrough rules to the firewall for the windows PPTP connection to complete.

however with protocol 47 open and TCP port 1723 open, we are still getting error 807, which is usually caused by the firewall blocking the tunnel.

I have had a google about and searched this forum as well, but haven’t found anything that explains it. everything I see says that those 2 rules should allow the connection as if it were a “VPN passthrough” checkbox on a commercial router.

any help would be much appreciated.

Someone from support managed to get to the crux of the issue!

we weren’t taking into consideration that the router is also dealing with pppoe authentication, so the NAT rules we were setting for the ether1 interface didn’t work for the traffic coming in on a pppoe connection.

just a note for anyone else googling for a solution but finding nothing related.
