We have the following setup
Our lan subnet for example is 192.168.101.0/24 (internal lan). A Windows XP machine on there establishes a VPN connection to a public ip that allocates a ip of 192.168.0.X (remote lan). We use masquarding at the moment.
How can i get the windows xp machine being able to ping and connect to remote hosts on the 192.168.0.x segment which is the remote dialed up VPN connection from the windows xp machine.
Thanks,
Chris
Not sure what this has to do with Mikrotik but this should happen automatically. This is the whole point of a VPN.
First thing to test is ‘ipconfig /all’ and see what gateway is assigned for that VPN link. Then make sure you can ping that. Then see if you can ping the assigned DNS server(s).
Unless I’m missing the point completely.
Drops that link before that i think its because gre isnt listed in firewall service ports from reading the forum it was there in previous 2.x releases.
Ok so what PPTP server do you have then? Can I assume you’re running 3.x?
What’s your config?
