I am experimenting with WG tunnels for multiple users to router, and it works very nice so far.
It would be nice to see when the particular user is connected, like with all other types of tunnels, but I am failing to find that feature…
Is there a way to see the list of connected users??

…not up to the stable release, no. All WG entries currently lack a logging feature,
Also, there are no users, only peers…best would be to check their last handshake info (or change thereof) or find / check their IPs (which you could also keep in a Address-List)
…and which is the ONE comment against wireguard as far as privacy is concerned when using public services.
Not that I care, I have my own WG setup
