Wireguard Question

Hello Forum,
I’m stuck with Wireguard.
I have configured both the Router and the MS Wireguard App.
The Wireguard App manages to create the tunnel to the Router but I have a pretty strange behavior on the Windows Laptop:
1- The default gateway on the laptop isn’t set.(0.0.0.0)
2- The subnetmask is wrong: 255.255.255.255

When I’m querying the DNS via nslookup to the Wireguard Router IF, this doesn’t give me any name.
But I can ping the Router Wireguard IF.

I have followed both NetworkBerg and Mikrotik videos which are pretty clear I understand.

I would truly appreciate some help as I’m really stuck.
Thanks
Laurent

Where did you get the MS wireguard app from??

Check firewalls or AV on windows laptop.

I have it working here and see how the configuration is on my Windows.

This is even wierder. That works well on my mac but not on the PC Windows…

Hi guys,
thanks for your input.
Likely be a Windows Firewall or AV issue..
I’ll try to dig out.
Thanks
Laurent

Hi Leoservices, is your endpoint your public IP on Windows ?
Thanks
Laurent

Endpoint is the Public IP of the MikroTik router and the port on which the wireguard interface is located.

Typically people use a DYNDNS name/url associated with the public IP of their network. It could be you are behind an ISP router etc…
A free one available is your IP Cloud on the router ( my netname )

So for endpoint and port you put into the client device peer settings

Endpoint = 4g5c933264sw.sn.mynetname.ne:13231

Be advised it seems there is a generic problem with mynetname.net service.

Leo was spot on.
The only issue is my business computer set of apps.
It works well on my iphone and on my personal MAC.

The weird thing is that I don’t have the same issue with openvpn which itself works pretty well.
