Hi there
We have two routers running 7.17.2, one router is CCR2004-1G-12S+2XS the other is an CCR2004-16G-2S+
They both have a 1Gb symmetric uplink to the internet.
We are able to do “speedtest” from local linux boxes with upload/download with close to wirespeed, from either site.
We have setup a wireguard VPN in a simple setup. We have actually been running like this for a few years.
But we just noticed that transfers in one direction is much slower than the other…
So we are takling a difference of about 1/4, so downloads from site A to B via the WG, is about 950Mb/sec. where as the downloads in the other direction B to A is about 300Mb/sec.
We have of cause tried to check different things, but we are pretty sure the main suspect is the wireguard link, because as described we are able to do “speedtest” runs from a local node via the same internet with speeds above 900Mb/sec. (upload&download)…
We see a small amount of RX/TX drops and RX/TX errors (in the order of about 500 packets out of 1 mio.) not sure if this is normal? (this is on the wireguard interfaces)
My question is, how to we identify the cause?
