Wireless Access Point - Restricting specific mac to a radio

Hi,

We have two mikrotik access points in the building. We have one wireless network both with the same SSID. However, for some werid reason certain devices (wifi thermostats) are connecting to the weakest radio.

What’s the best way to either:

  1. Make the wireless clients use the strongst radio

or

  1. Restrict certain macs only to be allowed to connect to certain radios, bear in mind anyone that has the correct WPA key we want to be able to connect with me creating a profile for them on the mikrotik’s.

I would suggest to use access-list feature on the AP so you could deny connect to a specific wireless interface from a specific MAC address. Here are the link to the documentation:
