we use radius authentication for our wireless clients.
is there a possibility to make the mikrotik box to cache positive or negative authentications for lets say 30 minutes ?
so that it does not flood the radius with the same request again and again ?
Soon you will be able to use MikroTik RADIUS which will be in the UserManager package. You can also use it as RADIUS server for the wireless clients. The package will be be ready in one month for testing.
‘‘hope so soon coz we r going mad’’’
ps. did anyone had the deauth problem on his router???coz i’m having it on a daily basis and it is disconnecting the router and never rreconnect till rebooting..
We are currently using a Linux Box for Radius Authentication. It authenticates the username, password & MAC. It also provides the tx/rx rate, download/upload limits, and fixed IP address per user as set in the radius.
Will this Mikrotik Radius have at least similar functionality. There are also many Radius servers that can run even on Win 2000, XP, and off course Windows servers. They provide numerous functionalities to control and shape client connections. So please advise as what options will be available within this MT Radius server, and whether it will be released as a stable package or Beta.
i’m using now the aleppo radius server and it is good not problem and it have web interface for the client that want to reset the MAc.“pppoe client” and have all needed to make the accounting, does the MT have the functionality of the allepo. or close???
