Hello,
I played with my Mikrotik AP (802.11n only) rates a and got into some questions. Maybe someone of you could lead me to the answers. Thank you.
So here are some pictures:
802.11a/g configured data rates:

802.11n configured data rates:

A screenshot of all clients :

A screenshot of a single connected client:

I also have Guard interval set to “any” and Both chains enabled for Tx and Rx.
Routerboard- 711UA-2HnD ( Built in 2GHz AR9283 802.11b/g/n card )
Questions are-
- Why in the single connected client screenshot there are rates being measured like “6Mbps”, “HT20-0”, which are disabled on the AP?
- As i understand the current rate of a client can be found by looking at the “all clients” screenshot, where 117Mbps would mean MCS14, 20Mhz channel, 800ns Guard Interval ( IEEE_802.11n-2009 modulation and coding scheme ) Also the second client in the table is 800ns GI client (MCS6, 58,5Mbit with 800ns GI)
None of my different hardware have ever shown a rate which would use 400ns GI. How does Mikrotik choose those guard intervals? (Clients have different Atheros, Broadcom, Intel wifi adapters with latest drivers, no forced Guard Interval or smth.)
Best regards,
Resnais
