Ok, I’ve got my spiffy little Mikrotik hotspot (built on routerboard 230 with Atheros AR5212 mPCI) all setup and working with the first of many (hopefully) client devices. The laptop I’m testing on is using a Cisco Aironet 350 PCMCIA card and I’m not having any problems logging on and off the hotspot service, surfing or anything else. And so I began hooking up some more clients and that’s where the fun began…
I’ve got three more laptops, identical to the one I’ve already gotten hooked up. Each one is using a different wireless bridge to connect:
1 – Netgear ME101
2 – Linksys WET11
3 – Dlink DWL-810+
I have met with dismal results:
1 – The Negear says it is associated but the MT doesn’t show it in the reg-table. I get an IP address from the DHCP pool but can’t ping the MT
2 – The Linksys just doesn’t see the MT
3 – The Dlink doesn’t see the MT either
I have tried both with default-authentication set to “yes” on the MT, as well as setting it to “no” and adding the bridges’ MACs to the access-list for the wlan1 interface. Nothing seems to work to get these bridges talking to the MT.
Am I missing something?
