wireless-fp in 2020

A few years ago it was best practice to enable “only-hardware-queue” on wireless interfaces to activate fastpath. This did seem to help quite a bit to lower CPU usage and even unlocked some extra bandwidth when using 80mhz channels (since some devices, namely wAPac, are limited by CPU). I recently purchased a new wAPac to add to my CAPSMAN system and restoring defaults after flashing the lastest firmware (6.46+) still sets “wireless-default” - where are we today in 2020? Should we be utilizing “only-hardware-queue” to squeeze the most out of their CPU, or is there some benefit to using the “wireless-default” software queue?
