Wireless in Industrial application needs FX AP

Hi all, I work in industrial outdoor application. Some of my installation covering large sites. The trouble is that I can space my AP’s 600-700 m in most of my installation, the problem is that I need an Access Point with 4 FX ports and 2 or so Ethernet.
I know I can use a Media converter but this is a messy solution. I think there is a very lucrative market. If you do the numbers 1 AP 4x Media converter, power supplies, enclosure, patch leads you are quick at $1000 and a lot of work and mess.
If there would be a 2x MiniPCI 4x SFP 2-4x Ethernet PoE you could do a lot of nice stuff with this.

If this is not the case then what could you do with a soldering iron? how difficult is it to convert an ethernet port to a SFP slot?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The RB2012 was at one point going to look something like this:

The rumor specs for the RB2012 included a 802.11 N AP as well as an SFP port.

The Upcoming CloudCore Router has 4 SFP Ports…

I know those aren’t exactly what you’re looking for…but if MikroTik’s product development cycle history is any indication…features like SFP ports should eventually trickle down into a product that will meet your needs!
