NEED REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE!
OK i have 1 ap with 10.1.1.1 as a dhcp server/hotspot, I have another DUAL radio Mikrotik(one as a client(10.1.1.2)) and another AP/HOTSPOT as 10.1.2.1 for other clients. Why can’t I reach 10.1.2.1 from the 10.1.1.1 AP? (If I connect wireless to the 1st AP?)
Please understand I have tried a lot of routing and stuff and am very frustrated with this. I can not get dude or any other method (other than mac ping, mac telnet) to connect to the AP beyond the first AP…
I’ve been through the online class ($1200) and it seemed to be correct. (adding 10.1.x.xxx routing the interfaces) BUT in reality it didn’t work. Is it something with the mac addresses in wireless that screwed this up? Or is it in the firewall rules that don’t let traffic go upstream? If anyone has the equipment (3 radios and 2 mik boards)? please try this 1 AP(wireless/DHCP/HOTSPOT 10.1.1.1/24) with a client of (dual radio Mikrotik(1 DHCP client and 1 AP/DHCP/HotSpot on 10.1.2.1/24)
Going downstream is fine(down to 1.1), but coming upstream is dead ( up to 2.1 ) (except mac telnet)
What did I do wrong?
The simplest way of saying this is,
a. I created a wireless hotspot with 10.1.1.1/24 (AP1)
b. connected a dual radio node to AP1 (DHCP client (10.1.1.2/24)
c. used radio 2 of second router as 10.1.2.1/24 (AP2)
cannot get from 10.1.1.1 to 10.1.2.1… via winbox…(other than MAC telnet)
