I am a student researcher; I am working on my Ph.D., which is about sea cages for aquaculture. I want to extend the wifi from an office in the land to sea cages 2km far away, in the sea. My goal is to use the wifi for sensors data collection and video surveillance. I did buy two Tp-link Cpe210(+5km), I did setup one as AP and the other in the cages as a client; but unfortunately it didn’t work; wasn’t able to connect to the AP event if the signal was about -80 dBm in the client side. So now I am stuck I can’t setup the Wireless link between the land and a sea spot (where the sea cages are placed)
so my question is how to setup a connection between the office and the sea cages which are 2km away from the office), so I can do video surveillance and sensor data collection?
OK, so you tried TP-link devices.
Now you are on the MIkrotik forum, and the people here know very well Mikrotik devices.
Are you interested to use Mikrotik devices for your link?
As a general rule: for PtP links always use dishes. For example: Dynadish 5: https://routerboard.com/RBDynaDishG-5HacD
It might be a bit overkill, but will work fine. A SXT Lite 5 might also do the trick: https://routerboard.com/RBSXT5nDr2

Its easier to but not with tplink, tplink 5ghz devices not a good choice you can buy mikrotik less than tplink price and do very lot of work with them,
But if you bought a tplink devices You must know that points:
Every two devices tunning wel,
Get better signal with less -dbm strength and your height mut be same between devices,
Use channel with less noice
Use 20 mhz band
Choice best frequency in country
For ex: 5700 or 5500 or 5680 in italy

us I said I want to create a link from land to sea spot I can get max 3m height in the sea cages, but the office in the land is in much higher position maybe 20m.
so using any pair of the product, you did provide will work well for video surveillance and sensor data collection?
and is those products have a weather proof protection like sea environment?
Hope you are able to keep the sea spot device stable and without any movement. Are you?
i will install the antenna in the middle of a cage of 8m diameter.
