wireless mac addresses

Is there any drawback, or is it bad practice, to change the mac address of a card. I had an rb532+wlan card lose it’s wireless card due to lightning. I’m programming up another rb532+wlan card to replace it. It’d be a dead simple swap if it’s OK to change the mac address on an sr5 or cm9. Otherwise, I will have to change the registration tables. I don’t want to just swap radio cards, as it might be a cm9 that has gone bad and I don’t trust mine of my tech’s fingers in the field with the ufl connectors.
Does it run the card in permiscous mode or mess with things somehow when the mac address is changed, or is it all normal business for a wlan card to be changing mac addresses?

pretty normal.

I did this on a 4 node WDS setup i have at a hotel install…for some reason a lady who works there decided to pick up my equpiment and eventually drop it..breaking the antenna and card…

same RB, just a new 8602 set to the mac addy of the old 8602.

been running just as before for about 4 months now…i did it more as a proof of concept since it was such a small install i could have changed the tables to the new mac addy quickly…

Thanks for the good news!
