Hi everyone, this is my first post on the forum so I don’t know if I should introduce myself first. Nevertheless, my name is Rubén and I am a total newbie.
I have purchased an RB493 with two R52n and I have a problem while multicasting a video stream from my satellite receiver. I currently own an AzBox STB which is able to stream a HD (and SD) channel. I really love this feature as this allows me to watch my favourite channels on my desktop computer, which is directly attached to the router.
The problem arises when I want to use my laptop while streaming a channel, as the wi-fi network seems to be pretty unresponsive (as opposed to the wired one which runs perfectly).
Briefly speaking, my configuration is as follows:
- Ethernet ports 2-5 and 6-9 switched
- Ports 2, 6 and wi-fi NICs (AP bridge mode) bridged
- WMM support enabled
I forgot to mention that the maximum video bitrate I have observed goes around 11 Mbps.
I don’t really know where to start. I know I should setup some QoS rules but I am not sure if they are going to work as the interfaces are bridged.
My knowdlege about networks is not as good as I would like it to be (I am a computer engineer, but it’s not my main field of activity), so I would appreciate some tips to start with.
Kindest regards
