Wireless N not allowing older PC's to connect

Hi,

We have the new N-Type wireless adapter (Atheros 11N) installed into a RB800 with licence level 6. We have reports that some older pc’s are having issues connecting to the unit even though we have it set to b/g/n.

Here are the settings in the wireless:

I have read about the new N-type adapter and there are still a few things that confuse me.

  1. Should i set up Nstreme? I have read that you can have disconnecting issues with this.
  2. I have only 1 antenna connected. HT TX/RX chain set to 0.
  3. What are the HT AMPDU Priorities?
  4. If i set to N-only will the other b/g PC’s still be able to connect as its backward compatable? Cant find explination for this.
  5. Should we have 2 antennas in use when there is ‘N’ involved?

Any information is greatly appreciated.

fluffymassive, I would suggest that you upgrade to v5 for better support of older WIFI clients.

Hi,

I have upgraded to version 5. What settings should I check for?

Cheers,
