Wireless not as good after upgrade

I have just upgraded my new RB751G-2HnD to 5.24 because of the bug in the Quickset that stops the wireless from working by setting it 2 nv2 nstream 802.11.

After the upgrade the wireless signal strength has dropped, not by a lot, but enough to prevent good operation from certain parts of the house.

I also noticed that in 5.16 there was a TX Power setting for the domain, that is no longer there.

Is there anyway of getting back to 5.16 RouterOS.

You can downgrade but first change to advanced mode and check the tx power level. The advanced mode is at the bottom.

I know how to do the downgrade, were I get the 5.16 packages from is the problem.

Is this what your lookin for?

Yes, exactly what I am looking for, how are we mere mortals supposed to know about that download address, in all the reading I have done of the manual and on this website over the last couple of years, I have never seen that address.

P.S.

Thanks.

Hi,

I seem to have read somewhere on this forum that it’s not a good idea to downgrade beyond the version that was installed on the device when it was shipped. Not sure about this but I would check the forum or get some more info from Mikrotik themselves before you do this.

Rgds,
Mark.
