Wireless not working until reboot

I am having issues where wireless stops working after working for a few days of operation.
Background:

  • Have been using the existing configuration for ~2 years
  • Most recent change is the package update to 6.40.5 to fix KRACK vulnerability
  • RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN

Problem:

  • Issue seems to have started since the package update
  • Wireless would stop working after 1-5 days of use
  • When wireless stops working, none of the rx features work (frequency scanning, sniffer)
  • Enabling/disabling wireless does not work
  • Only temporary fix is to reboot, but issue arises in few days again

Troubleshooting:

  • Wireless logging turned on, but no useful information is in the log
  • Updated firmware to the most recent version

I am now stuck as it seems that the issue keeps coming back. Greatly appreciate any help to fix the issue.

I am having the same issue with the same piece of equipment. I keep hoping the latest update will resolve it but wireless interfaces just stop after a given amount of time/traffic.

Do you see the AP broadcasting SSID? Disable/enabled of wireless interface doesn’t help?
What wireless configuration you have on the board? Please try to reset the wireless interface settings and configure only the setting you need.
Please update the RouterOS to the latest Current release and check again.
When you see this problem again, please make a support output file and send it to support@mikrotik.com

I seem to experience this same issue, on both a hAP AC lite and hAP.

My temporary workaround is to reset the radio with a script every night but the frequency of this issue seems to increase.

Is this likely a hardware issue or a software bug? Will submit to support the next time it occurs

I also have same problem On some SXT’s and OmniTiK’s and I put daily reboot them, its not good but I couldnt find any other solution. I tried to change freuency but no any effect.

I happend again this morning, sent an e-mail to support. Now we wait :slight_smile:

Edit: Got the advice to reinstall the device using netinstall. Uptime for the hAP AC Lite is 3 days now and so far no issues. Will keep you posted!

It seems to be working for my hAP AC Lite, my regular hAP is not so lucky it appears. Also got 1 message from a friend using a 951g getting the same issue but not frequently…

If you are able to replicate the issue please repport to support :slight_smile: Maybe they can find something in the software and fix it!

I sent mail to support and waiting.

I have sent email to support and all I got was… try putting it in standalone.

I sent the support files and they didn’t even look at it from what I can tell.

Sumitted another ticket. They merged it with the last one then proceeded to ignore me again.
