Wireless problem with mikrotik hotspot

Hello
I’m on a camping with a miktrotik wifi hotspot. I’ve got a login to the hotspot (it’s free) but the wifi signal is poor and I can’t get a proper signal on the ipad. To solce that I’ve got a alfa r36 which relays the wifi signal. It receives the signal via the alfa tube u (n) with a 10 dbi antenna. When I do a scan of the wifi networks I get the hotspot with -45 and an other hotspot with -54.

The problem is that I get kicked out for some reason. With kicked out I mean that I get a http login page. I don’t know why. Sometimes Ihave to login every second (after logging in I’ve got to login again) and it doesn’t matter if I heavily use the connection or not.

I can’t find anything on the alfa, there is a log but it doesn’t show anything when I have to login.

Does anyone know what it could be? I don’t have access to the mikrotik but I would like to know what it could be. Also when I go directly on the wifi signal of the camping with my laptop I get the login page but less offten. When there are two or more devices on the wifi signal of the alfar36 I get the login page more often.

Update: the transfer speed is about 3-50KBps. This might be caused by a overloaded internet connection.

your proplem is with your mikrotik hotspot owner .check with him…

I was hoping that you guys might have an idea how to find the problem without checking the owner.

After further monitoring the wifi networks I’ve probably found the problem: the wireless network signal isn’t stable. It has up and downs:

When it’s down the Mikrotik hotspot logs me out and I’ve to login again. I don’t know why (I know that the owner can find it in the log and I’ve seen the sticky topic in this forum about debugging) however I would like to know if it’s possible to keep the session even when a device is disconnected for a few seconds so I don’t have to log in again. The MAC and the IP is the same so why would it drop the session?

The reason why I ask this is to give the owner the instructions how to configure it properly (if it’s possible) so he can fix the problem faster. I’m only for a few weeks at this camping so any help is appreciated.

Ps those who wonder how I’ve made the graph: inSSIDer (I think that most of you know this tool but just in case).
