Wireless RB951G-2HnD performance and device authentication limit

Dear All,
Would really appreciated support on this.
i’m having a problem with a wireless connectivity issue in a coffee shop.

Currently using RB951G-2HnD in the peek time when 20 users are connected the internet stops working looks like wireless interference or something..

Need to know how many active users RB951G-2HnD can handle and is there a way to limit authenticated wireless devices so we can use more than 1 RB951G-2HnD ?

thank you

There is a way to limit the max connected stations :

/interface wireless set wlan1 max-station-count=20

But it should be able to handle a lot more than that. It depends on signal strength and quality. Try a different channel and see if you have stations with very low signal and low bitrate.

monitor the traffic and ccq of the ap to know if it has some performance problem.

I have seen RB951g and rb951ui and rb 951 2n (lower cpu) with 40 users without problem

Guys please help..
i have 2 RB951Ui -2HnD access points close to each other ( 5m)
Problem is sometimes it works fine but sometimes it starts disconnecting users and if they are not disconnected they can’t reach gateway, traffic for wireless drops down to bps.. and then goes up to 2 mb/s..
i don’t know what to do it seems like there is a lot of noise in the area and the wireless is just not stable at all..

picture shows traffic in the peek time the peek time which is ridiculous:

Configuration below:
name=“wlan1” mtu=1500 mac-address=4C:5E:0C:9F:C3:DA arp=enabled
interface-type=Atheros AR9300 mode=ap-bridge ssid="Ax - xx
frequency=2452 band=2ghz-b/g/n channel-width=20mhz scan-list=default
wireless-protocol=any vlan-mode=no-tag vlan-id=1 wds-mode=disabled
wds-default-bridge=none wds-ignore-ssid=no bridge-mode=enabled
default-authentication=yes default-forwarding=yes default-ap-tx-limit=0
default-client-tx-limit=0 hide-ssid=no security-profile=profile1
compression=no

software upgraded to 6.27..
should i consider replacing them with cisco normal access points?

Are both setup in the same channel?

No different channels!
PS they are configured with a load balance system.

do a

/interface wireless spectral-history range=2.4ghz wlan1

and post it here.

here you go, thanks a lot…
keep in mind the issue is happening at around 4 pm in the peek time so now it’s 12AM..

Does it always happen at the same hour??

Doesn’t happen everyday but when it does it happens starting around 4PM yes

Do the scan when it’s happening, switch wireless of on the AP not doing the scan. Looks like interference.

What do you mean by scan?
If it’s interference what’s the best way to sort it out…
Thanks a lot For the Support.

I meant the spectral-history command.

It depends, maybe moving the APs, maybe using a different channel…

Here is the scan at the time i had the issue today.
how do you read this can you help me?

I Think it’s an interference issue
check scan below:

looks like channel 6 (2437mhz) has high utilization

try channel 1 (2412 mhz) or channel 11 (2462 mhz)
