When i want to know about other APs, i do a wireless-scan via the Winbox-interface.
For statistic reasons, i want to do that on a regular basis, so i use the API.
Bad luck, because: as soon as i start the Command: /interface/wireless/scan,
the clients are disconnected. Even worse, they can not reconnect, unless i do a Roouter-reboot.
First of - wireless can changes frequency of the card so it can scan all the set channels in scan list, it is not possible to maintain normal AP operation while doing that.
second - you have to stop the scan, when stopped, router will return to settings set up on the interface and continue as an access point.
Thanks, have reproduced it also with Winbox. As i understand it now, i should not do this on a regular basis like hourly, but no more than 1-2 times a day, on startup.
I thought that the parameter “=duration=10” implies a stop after this time and allows clients to reconnect ?
How would i stop scanning explicitly ?
it has to be in one sentence, since scan is command and duration is attribute to the scan, same way as =.id= field is attribute so you know on what interface you are exactly scanning.
this is full sentence that will make scan to work for 10 seconds (that is when 5.13 comes out)
