wireless-test.pkg | Multiple AP Interference

Has anyone else experienced interference issues when running the wireless-test package on POPs with multiple access points on the same frequency?

It works fine if the POP has a single AP and its backhaul is running on a different frequency, but I’m having major interference issues with it running on sectorized POPs.

For instance:

3, 5 GHz, 120 degree sectors, 20 MHz channels properly spaced
Each with RB411A, XR5, RouterOS 3.24, latest firmware.

  • When I enable wireless-test.pkg on one AP, clients on the adjacent sectors become unstable and jump on and off with erratic uptimes.
  • If I enable wireless-test on all APs the interference becomes even worse.
  • When APs are returned back to standard wireless.pkg, everything runs smoothly.

I’ve seen similar issues on 900MHz sectorized POPs running XR9s/SR9s, etc.

I’ve searched the forum and couldn’t find anything similar. Am I the only one?

I’ve seen the same exact problem, so far the only solution was to keep using the old package. I wonder about v4 since it includes the test package. I don’t feel comfortable testing v4 in production enviroments, but I imagine this will have to be addressed and fixed before it can be released.

I was hoping there was a config solution someone came across. I really like the nstream improvements in the test package, but these interference issues make it unusable in most situations.

Developers, are you guys aware of this issue?
