Wireless Wire 60Ghz PTP link: weather problems?

Hi all.
I’m looking at Wireless Wire 60Ghz PTP kit (RBwAPG-60adkit) but I’m wondering about the 60GHz link reliability in adverse weather conditions.

My plans are to install them between 2 buildings, 80m approx. of distance, do I have to consider any rain/fog related problem over such a short distance? I know that 60Ghz links are very likely affected by weather and in Milan (Italy) we have a lot of rain and fog from October to February.

Thank You

Hi we using wapg for last 3 months on 120m and LHG60g on 900m for last month we based in ireland so u can imagine we have lots of fog and rain and after days os alignment they finally working perfect all was down to latest stable version of router os we had rc versions and routers crashed couple of times and we had to use netinstall, but after that 100 percent working with no disconnection at all.

I am curious to know how things are going with the LHG60g? What ROS version seems to work the best. Still no weather based drops for your link? Thanks.

I’m going to deploy them in the next few days…

80m should be fine even with heavy rain. Maybe use the upper channels if you can.

Performance on these is great and I find the quoted distances to be a minimum.

testing started… No issue so far, the speed between 2 buildings is IMPRESSIVE. Definetely meet the expectations of “wireless wire” commercial name.

Wait for first snow. Link is not working :frowning: :frowning:

Mikrotik - Why no radom for this LHG? Snow is death for a reflective surface

We see the same on 800m with light snow fall. Seems 60GHz does not like snow. Link was down an hour. 5Ghz backup jumps in.
