Wireless Wire - Increase Throughput

I have had the Mikrotik 60Ghz Wireless Wire “Paired link” since 2018. I never experienced any down-time and always full duplex 1gbps link.

My link is 10ft apart at 7 feet height, unobstructed line of sight. In short I am connecting one side of the my office with the other side.

Up till recently, all we had at home was 1Gbps / 40Mbps from Xfinity, Comcast, but now we have 2.4gbps/350mbps.

Is there anyway to increase the paired link connection speed? Is it limited by the Ethernet port to 1Gbps?

Thanks.

No, the radio has its limits, and anyway as you say the 1 GB port is anyway a bottleneck.

You will need something with a 2.5 GB port and a correspondingly fast radio.

I don’t think that Mikrotik has such a faaaast wireless wire kit.

10 feet must be the record opposite to:

I would have thought that the devices are too near to work correctly, good to know that they work fine at such a short distance.

You must have some serious WAF problems if you can’t pull a CAT6 UTP cable (even CAT5e would do for this kind of distance) accross / around the office.

The link connects one side of the office to the other side (home office). I could probably run Cat 5e or Cat 6 cable, but would have to either cut thru the carpet or run the cable on the floor.

The link is solid as a rock, perfect product.

I truly hope Mikrotik refreshes this product with a paired link, 2.5Gbps, full duplex. That would be very sweet and would pre-order such a product.

Thanks for all your replies.

A cable is still easier and more efficient from cost and energy point of view…

You can even run 10Gb/s over cable if you really want.
Try that with wireless
