I’ll try to explain my situation as best I can, hopefully I won’t leave any info out
I was streaming copies of packets from my MikroTik router to WireShark on my laptop but I’m a bit confused by the results…
The only filter I used on WireShark was ‘udp.port=37008’, I’m not 100% what this filter means, I was getting my info from http://rant.gulbrandsen.priv.no/mikrotik/tcpdump, could someone please explain why this filter was applied?
Sorry, yes I applied that filter on the advice of the article I linked above, but I’m not sure why that specific filter was applied and what effect it has?
this is to connect to streaming server. You dont need this on filter in wireshark. just make sure your firewall between mikrotik and wireshark have the port open.
But…
Its possible to use this to filter out packages recived from mikrotik server. Otherwise you will also get regular packages on the interface. Just not only the stream.
