Wish List...

Winbox:

  1. Name resolution in displays/monitors/lists
  2. Context sensitive help or at least a winbox based manual for those of us who don’t do cmd line
  3. Consistent data rate formats in displays/monitors/lists (not jumping from bps to kbps as the rate changes)

Can I add one more wish
Content blocking like .avi .zip .mp3 etc…

…but you can if you use web-proxy?

2ps: WinBox interface semantics directly corresponds to console. We decided to document console, as it keeps the manual smaller and easier to read and navigate.

I realise that and it works to an extent but it is very time consuming, particularly using the search functions within Acrobat. For example, if I am looking for definitions for the web proxy interface in winbox, I search for web proxy and get 30 results, none of which take me to a Web Proxy section, so instead I brows through the contents headings, all 80 of them! …And I still can’t see a heading for it!!
The software is outstanding and great VFM but I’m afraid the documentation is a big let down.

Try to use online HTML documentation

Another useful thing for winbox would be to have either a default monitor display or the ability to save display settings/layouts. As you work with winbox, you move things around and resize them but then when it’s configured, you just want to monitor the interfaces and connections - it would be great to click a button and get the saved display back again.

you have that in 2.9 already

So does MT 2.9 use a new version of winbox? Does winbox 2.9 work with MT 2.8?

of course it does have a new winbox which is especially made for 2.9

Hi,i wish add new function.
-display name/nick of clients connected on AP
-chance use more email to information e.g. pings on clients
-more ping watchog target in menu
-support agere/orinoco hermesAP drivers

You can already do that in access list!
Just put comment infront of each users mac address…

It would be great if the DNS name of the SMTP server that is used for relaying email in the hotspot can be specified rather than a IP address.
